The population was carefully regulated by a ceremonial mate selection in which the rulers would only approve pairings of matched birthstones and whose pure and strong off spring would guarantee a continued and controlled healthy lineage. The frogs were mostly happy with this arrangement, each contributing to the Kingdom in their own way. In this utopia, there was no need for fighters or protectors as the Frogs were safe as long as they abided by the mating rules and kept to their corner of Featherland.
